Web Site by Egret.Net Friends, We are thrilled to keep going with a new homelessness prevention campaign, the Snip-N-Chip! In Bulgaria there are many thousands of homeless dogs. In addition, there are many dogs that are cared for by low income individuals. Those pups typically get fed and have some shelter. Mostly, the pups live in a yard and have none of the luxuries we associate with household pets. If one of these pups gets loose even for a short while, they can easily end up pregnant or impregnating a homeless female. The resulting litters prove to be too big of a burden for the already struggling owners and end up being thrown out on the streets. AAI wants to promote responsible pet ownership and prevent homelessness. This campaign aims to help pups whose owners can't afford vet services by getting the doggies sterilized and microchipped. These two key services will attack homelessness two ways: by preventing new homeless litters as well as by keeping the pups from becoming homeless in case they get lost. Our Bulgarian rescue partners are conducting screenings of potential candidates for this campaign and, as always, will be extra prudent in approving only qualifying families. Please consider joining us in this exciting new campaign! Our goal will be to raise the funds for 5 female dogs per campaign iteration. When the first set of Snip-N- Chips is funded, we will begin work on the next group. Male dog neuters are less expensive so in the cases we end up having males come through our program, we will simply carry over the remaining funds to the next group of 5 animals. Let's get those pups snipped and chipped and prevent many, many homeless babies! A female dog can have 10 pups per litter, up to 20 pups per year! Your support of our campaign will prevent so, so much suffering! We have already raised the funds for 35 dogs, let's get 5 more snipped and chipped!
